Welcome to T.H.E. Actors’ Workshop and Integral Theatre Company! Birthed in the fall of 2002 — but gestating for 20 years before –THE Actors’ Workshop began as a class format, teaching privately, talented, home educated (the T.H.E. in the T.H.E. Actors’ Workshop) high school students the WHOLE craft of live theatre. We have 2, full-semester classes which culminate in productions in January for the fall semester and May for the spring.
In January 2007, we began integrating into our productions former graduates with current students. In the summer of 2009, we became fully integrated with our first summer stock production – incorporating current and former Actors’ Workshop students along with actors auditioned from the community. While the foundation of this company will always be our classes (the most comprehensive available outside upper level college classes), in spring of 2010, we opened the class up to other private and public school students who are serious about the art of theatre and don’t want to just “do a play”.
We are ever evolving and growing! We have finally gotten our non-profit status completed and have expanded our productions to 4 a year- for the moment, (since we use a facility donated to us, we must work around their schedule – but are grateful for its use nonetheless – as this keeps our cost – and your ticket prices – down!) If you would like to be involved in front or behind the scenes, let us know! We are always on the look-out for thespians and patrons of the theatre arts who have a spirit of excellence toward the craft to come work along side us and help us in our vision to bring quality theatre for the entire family.
T.H.E. Actors’ Workshop and Integral Theatre Company is a member of the League of Sacramento Theatres (seeaplay.com) as well as the Sacramento Regional Theatre Alliance (sarta.com) where we were pleased to have 4 of our students nominated from the first two shows we had judged, in the 2008-2009 season!
